Upcoming Reunion 2012
Where: Lake Barkley State Resort Park in Cadiz, KY
When: Arriving May 17 and leaving May 20, 2012
Rooms: the Lake Barkley Lodge (motel style) has 120 rooms, the Little River Lodge has 10 rooms and one suite, 9 2-bedroom/2-bath cottages and 4 2-bedroom/2-bath log cabins.
Amenities: Gift shop, indoor/outdoor swimming pools, boating, fishing, walking/biking trails, trap shooting, golf, horseback riding, fitness center and more!
Food: Full Service dining room
Cost: the deposit will remain the same. $60.00 payable by December 1, 2011. The checks will be made out to Ken Godkin and sent to 8309 N. 37th St, Omaha, NE 68112-2013. (Just as always this money will be used to cover all the expenses of the reunion.)
Lodge rooms: $66.16 per night Cabins/Cottages: $99.24 per night (two people/couples can split this cost) When you make your reservations you will be charged one nights stay as a deposit.

The Marines of 3/5 Reunions is a non-profit, unincorporated organization. It began in the
fall of 1999 and has continued to the present time. One of our purposes is to find and honor
the families of those who lost their lives in battle. Another purpose is to reunite friends
who trained together, fought together, and then lost touch when they returned home.
In previous years our reunions were held in May at Highland Marina on West Point Lake in LaGrange, GA. Beginning in 2009 through 2011 it has been held at Hickory Knob State Park right off the Savannah River and close to McCormick, SC. In May of 2012, we will be moving to Lake Barkley State Resort Park near Cadiz, KY. My husband, Curtis, and I will no longer be hosting these reunions. We have given that over to Dee & Ken "Sugarbear" Godkin, however we will still be working with the family that will be honored.
Our reunions are not the formal, hotel type reunions with fancy meals and ballroom dancing. We just like to get together and have a good time. But we never lose sight of what we are really gathering for and that is what the ceremony on Saturday is all about.
At the recognition ceremony on Saturday the honored family is presented with a shadow box that contains the actual burial flag, if possible, and the medals awarded to their loved one. It is truly something you don't want to miss.
