Hello everyone!
Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. Been a busy one around here for sure! If where you live is like here, it’s been a strange winter. Usually by the first part of January we have snow on the ground, but been a balmy 40-60 here and no snow! But we do live in Nebraska and if you don’t like the weather wait a few minutes and it will change!
Work on the 2012 reunion is progressing nicely! We have lots of first timer’s joining us this year, we’re looking forward to meeting them and bringing them into our 3rd Bn, 5th Marines family.
Lake Barkley recently got their liquor license and we will have a cash bar available Fri. and Sat. nights.
We don’t have a lot of rooms left at Lake Barkley, so if you haven’t made your reservations yet please do so.
Also if you have not sent your deposit ($60 covers 1- T-shirt and 1-Cover, extra t-shirts and covers are $10 each) yet, you need to do that as well. Please, please, please remember to put your t-shirt size either on your form or on your check, if you don’t, who knows what you will get. I don’t know all of you personally, so I really don’t want to guess! The order form is included again at the end of this email.

Curtis tells me that the “Doc Phelps” family is set and ready to join us this year. As always the shadow box is ready to go and beautiful as Curtis always
makes them.
Art Greene (his email is: megreen@frontiernet.com) is your contact for this year’s Trap shoot. If you wish to participate please email Art and let him know, so he can prepare. For you golfer’s who wish to shoot, we are rearranging the times so it will not conflict with the Golfing. Ski will also be helping with the Trap shoot, red bloomers in tow! Here is what we know so far:
One round of trap will cost about 20 dollars, this includes 1 box of shells (25).They have 4 guns to use. we would need one more, I am bringing my own gun. also anyone can bring their own gun. Only trap shells that use steel shot can be used at the state park, which will be provided. If there should be a tie for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd a shoot off would cost each participant another $20. Trap shoot should be 1 p.m. Friday. Remember, contact Art if you wish to participate.

This year we are in an area with many things to see and do as well as the reunion, we will have access to the attractions at the Land Between the Lakes
area. They have a Nature Station, Planitarium, and The Home Place (working 1800's farm) to see and do. They have a pass available for all three places
for $9 per person. If you are interested let me know and I can have the passes available for you when you check in.
We’re working on some other things for the reunion that aren’t finalized yet but there should be something fun for everyone.
